DOgs

Our best friends and "co-workers" on the farm are our 2 Australian Shepherds: Finnegan und Fiona. Finn herds the horses in and Fiona is the guard dog and always "alert.“
2008 we had a couple of babies.

Humphrey

Our latest addition to the family was born premature and rejected by his mother.
The daughter of a good friend of ours rescued and bottle fed him. Unfortunately her dog was not impressed at all with the the new member of the family and Humphrey had no respect for him at all. To save him from becoming lunch or dinner he joines our "zoo".
It is really funny,
but even here in the middle of the countryside the children of farmers have really fallen in love for Humphrey.
And so they should as he is something really special and like all pigs extremely clever.

Rabbits and chicken

Like with lots of other people it all started when our daughter brought a rabbit home. Sometimes afterwards we started to "properly" breed them. And as we are unable to eat any of our animals we specialised on angora rabbits. They are an endangered species as far as pets are concerned ...

Although members of endangered farm animals are our breed of chicken, Appenzeller Spitzhauben.
There eggs are also good for eating, as some people always ask.

other birds

We have quite a few of them so we always feel like being on holiday ...
In summer they are kept in outside aviaries next to our hammock and in the winter they are inside the house.
